Holiday Home Rentals Business Leads The Way In Europe

31 October 2008

A new holiday home rentals website has become one of Europe's market leaders in just five months after reporting a growth rate of 300 per cent since launching earlier this year. launched in May 2008 listing 10,000 properties but has already attracted the attention of more than 40,000 owners of apartments, cottages and villas worldwide.

Managing director Andrew Gibson says that the rental market is thriving due to holiday makers looking for more affordable accommodation options.

Andrew said: "We've experienced incredible growth since May with 40,000 properties, worth a combined £6 billion, currently listed and an increase in bookings of 15 per cent.

"Thanks to the credit crunch, holiday makers are choosing to rent accommodation to counteract rising flight prices and avoid inflated hotel rates.

"Meanwhile, many overseas property owners who previously kept their homes for private use are now renting them out as a way of earning additional income in these difficult times."

Andrew, a holiday-home-owner himself, came up with the idea for the site after encountering large listing fees when attempting to market his property online.

He continues: "It was vital that was free to use in order for the site to be a success as, one of the most frustrating elements of advertising a property online is the expensive fees involved.

"We've also incorporated the latest Web 2.0 developments to the site which enables users to place their own reviews and recommendations onto the site as well as being able to liaise directly with the owner."
