Liverpool Based Mayfield Construction Secures Contracts Worth Over £1 Million

21 July 2009

Mayfield Construction, part of the principal and specialist contractor, McKean Group, has secured three projects worth over £1 million.

The company, which operates in civil engineering, contemporary building, landscaping and concrete flooring, has been selected to complete £650,000 of work for Carillion at Townside in Bury.  The contract will entail work on the highway under section 278 of the Highways Act and hard landscaping outside the new Bury Council building.

Mayfield has also been awarded a £280,000 hard landscaping contract for Carillion Construction as part of Urmston town centre regeneration.  Mayfield secured the project after successful completion of the £300k+ Phase 1 scheme.  The new phase will include paving, drainage and construction of service yard for apartments and retail units.

An additional £100,000 contract has been secured to concrete the operational area of the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) at Lumns Lane in Swinton for Costain Construction Ltd.  Mayfield's scope of work involves engineering the gradient falls and levels on new concrete slabs surrounding the external work areas and installation of a concrete hardstanding.

Mayfield has previously worked on similar schemes including works in Rigby, Wigan, Deer Play and Burnley, where it undertook the full construction package from site excavation, drainage and slab construction to the reinforced concrete wall structures.

Dave Noar, Group Managing Director of McKean Group, said: "It's fantastic news that we've won additional business in the current competitive market conditions.  Our wealth of experience, diversity and commitment to quality has helped us maintain a healthy order book. "

"We're pleased to be progressing with our current projects and very much look forward to working on the newly secured contacts."

Ends.
