Marks & Spencer Celebrates ‘The Gathering’ With Special Ticket Giveaways In Edinburgh
22 July 2009
M&S stores in the Edinburgh area will be joining in the Homecoming celebrations this weekend as customers are given the chance to be a part of The Gathering 2009.
On Friday, 24th July, the first 15 M&S shoppers to report to the customer service desk at 9am at participating stores will land themselves a complimentary pair of tickets to The Gathering, which takes place on 25th and 26 July at Holyrood Park in the capital.
400 Silver passes to the event, worth £95 each, are up for grabs, providing weekend access to the spectacular Gathering festivities (excluding the clan parade). For shoppers who miss out on the Silver passes, 280 Highland Games tickets, worth £15, will also be given away, granting access to the landmark games for one day.
The fantastic giveaway coincides with Marks & Spencer's 125th birthday celebrations, which kicked off earlier this year.
Dominic Fry, Director of Communications for Marks & Spencer, said: "This is a great opportunity to reward our customers and treat them to a superb weekend. As we mark our 125th birthday, it makes perfect sense for us to also commemorate this important year for Scotland - there's certainly lots to celebrate.
"The Gathering will be a landmark event for Scotland and we're delighted to be involved."
The Gathering is a unique chance for Scots everywhere to celebrate their roots and one of Scotland's greatest traditions - the Highland Games. As well as the traditional Games, The Gathering will feature live music, a clan village, pipe bands, food and drink showcases, and Aisling's Children - a spectacular theatrical production performed on the Castle Esplanade.
For the chance to pick up these much sought-after tickets for free, customers should report to the customer service desk at participating M&S stores on Friday at 9am. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come first-serve basis. For list of participating stores, see notes to editors.
