New Spark At Mckean Group
18 March 2009
The McKean Group, which carries out both principal and specialist contracting works within the construction industry, has made a key appointment to its electrical division, the Hudson Group.
Brian Hynds (61), from Glasgow, has been appointed as the Divisional Manager for the group which is based in the city. His roll is to oversee electrical contracts from the point of pre-contract meetings through to site completion and final handover.
Brian was looking for a new challenge and pleased to be appointed to the Hudson Group.
He said: "I was delighted to be appointed to the Hudson Group which is developing a very strong reputation in the electrical industry.
"My job can involve making some difficult decisions, however, when contracts you are involved with go well it is very satisfying.
"My plan for Hudson is to increase its success in winning greater value contracts and, in turn, grow the group turnover which will lead to more profitability. This should create heightened stability within the workforce at a difficult economic time for the industry."
David Noar, Group Managing Director, said: "We are pleased that Brian has joined the Hudson Group - his wealth of experience will be a great benefit to the company. This appointment has been made to continue our momentum, underpin our progress and help the Group fulfil its ambitions of becoming a company where our people are at the forefront of our success. I'm positive Brian will make a major contribution within the division over the coming years."
Prior to his appointment with the McKean Group, Brian was the Glasgow Branch Manager for Scottish-based McGill Electrical for over five years. Over the past 30 years he has had a varied career and worked on many electrical projects including schools, hospitals, commercial contracts, power stations and offshore installations.
