M&S Marks The Finale Of Its 125Th Birthday Year With Christmas Penny Bazaar

Marks & Spencer announces today that its 125th birthday celebrations are culminating a real festive treat for customers - its much-loved Penny Bazaar is back by popular demand.

For one day only, Friday 13th November, M&S going back to its roots as the Original Penny Bazaar and offering an exclusive range of M&S Christmas products for just one penny each*. 

All of M&S' 300 plus UK main chain stores, 40 Simply Food stores and eight Outlets will house a Christmas Penny Bazaar, offering the range of 15 different products to M&S customers on a 'when it's gone, it's gone' basis.

M&S Chairman, Sir Stuart Rose, will officially launch the Christmas Penny Bazaar at M&S' flagship Marble Arch store on Oxford Street at 9.00am on Friday 13th November as over 350 stores up and down the country open their Christmas Penny Bazaars for business**.

Sir Stuart said: "Our first Penny Bazaars went down a storm with our customers. We received unprecedented demand for the products and so much positive feedback that we've decided to do it all again for Christmas.

"We've got millions of products going for a penny but we're expecting a big turn out - so make sure you get down to M&S as soon as you can on Friday 13th November."

The Christmas Penny Bazaar range includes some traditional stocking fillers - like hankies and puzzles, as well as some of the popular items from the first event like knickers and mugs.

M&S customers can choose up to five products each and every penny donated will go towards local charities chosen by the stores involved. The first Penny Bazaar, held in May, raised £200,000 for the same charities.

Christmas Penny Bazaar customers will also receive a free voucher booklet offering them three chances to save 12.5% when shopping with M&S over the festive period.

The full range of Christmas Penny Bazaar products consists of: Christmas socks; card games; children's puzzles; handkerchiefs; money boxes; tea-towels; mugs; notebooks; ties; knickers; key-rings; Christmas chocolates and Christmas Yule logs.
