Friday, 22 October 2010

Beattie Communications has been appointed by The Dormen Food Company to work on a £500,000 integrated campaign to re-launch Dormen's nuts and snacks.

Beattie's specialist Food & Drink team was selected following a competitive pitch to handle the autumn re-launch.

David Collard, divisional managing director, Glisten Ltd, said: 'Beattie was the natural choice to handle our re-launch. Their food credentials and experience speak for themselves and their creativity gave them a real edge in the process.

'This is a very exciting period for The Dormen Food Group so it's crucial that we have on board the best creative partners with the ability to help us deliver our brand goals.'

The specialist roaster and packer of nuts and snacks, owned by Glisten Ltd, was founded over 20 years ago and is famed for supplying some of the finest hotels in Europe, including top London establishments such as The Dorchester.

Dormen Foods moved into the retail sector in 1996, initially selling the brand through fine wine merchants and delis such as Berry, Bros & Rudd, Fortnum & Mason and Paxford & Whitfield.

Dormen's now has national listings with a number of the major supermarkets as well as a major contract with British Airways.

Beattie Communications' group managing director, Laurna O'Donnell, comments: 'This is a fantastic win for Beattie, we are very proud to be adding Dormen's to our food and drink portfolio. We can't wait to get started on the campaign as it's one where we can flex our creative muscles in positioning Dormen's as a luxury brand that's affordable.'
