Growing Beattie Leeds Team Adds More Recruits

Leading public relations, social media and digital marketing agency Beattie Communications has expanded its Leeds team with the appointment of two new members of staff.

Michael Sargood and Matthew Fraser have been appointed as account manager and PR assistant in two newly created roles.

Michael has more than nine years’ PR and communications experience with in-house and agency roles predominantly in the property, infrastructure and public sector.

After gaining a post-graduate diploma in print journalism, Michael entered public relations, working as assistant communications manager for Liverpool Land Development Company – one of two bodies tasked with delivering major regeneration projects acrossLiverpoolin advance of its year of European Capital of Culture 2008.

He later moved to Yorkshire and was appointed media relations manager for electricity network operatorNorthern Powergrid. The role saw him manage the company’s media response during widespread power outages, fatalities on the company’s network as well as protecting its reputation during a protracted period of industrial action by its workforce.

He then furthered his experience of the development and energy sectors with aLeedsstakeholder engagement agency, working to support planning applications for clients such as National Grid, Sainsbury’s (property communications), Clean Power, and Oakgate (Monks Cross) Ltd.

Matthew secured his role, while completing his PR degree atLeedsBeckettUniversity. He impressed the Beattie team during work experience throughout his second year. His thirst for knowledge and unrivalled passion for web marketing and social media mean he is a valuable addition to the team.
