10 South Parade Bucks Trend With Its Second Pre-Let Announcement

Wednesday, 26 May 2010

10 South Parade - Leeds' first speculative scheme on site in 2010 - has announced it has secured pre-lettings totalling 30 per cent.

Following the pre-let  announcement of 8,200 sq ft to Xafinity Consulting  earlier this month, Wilton Developments has secured a further pre-let of 3,200 sq ft of second floor office space to Odgers Berndtson, the leading worldwide firm of executive recruitment consultants.

Located in the heart of the city centre, 10 South Parade will provide 36,000 sq ft of Grade A+ air conditioned office space. The construction work has already started on this £10m office development scheme and completion is expected in Autumn 2010. Stainforth Construction Ltd is the main contractor.

Eamon Fox, associate director at DTZ, commented: "We are very pleased to have secured Odgers Berndtson, the UK's pre-eminent executive search firm, who specialise in recruitment for the private and public sector both in the UK and internationally.

"They are a welcomed addition to this scheme, and a testament to the quality of the product we will deliver during May 2010 when they will take occupation for fit out.

"10 South Parade is an example of the most innovative office design and functionality, which attracts occupiers who demand the highest quality. This is evident by the scheme's 30% pre-letting, and ongoing interest in the building."

Jason Stowe, managing director at Wilton Developments said: "In the context of the current market, the development of 10 South Parade reflects our confidence and commitment to Leeds through the high quality space that we will be creating, within the heart of the city's business core. We are very pleased that Odgers Berndtson will be part of this development's success."

Odgers' property adviser, David Coskie of Wright & Partners, commented: "With a lease expiry on the horizon, our client was very keen to relocate into new premises which were more reflective of the quality of their business and client status.

"The new development occupies an ideally prominent position on South Parade fronting the Leeds internal loop road. The new building will provide five storeys of high quality energy efficient office space that exceeds the latest standards. 10 South Parade will be extremely well specified and we have every confidence that it will allow Odgers Berndtson to continue to deliver a first class service to clients in the region. It is really pleasing to have received so much positive feedback from the local staff who are very excited about the move."

DTZ acted jointly with Knight Frank & WSB for Wilton Developments and Wright & Partners, London acted for Odgers Berndtson.
