Former Head of Sales & Marketing for Hazlewood Castle, Natalie Sykes, has been promoted to Director of Sales for Ashdale Hotels, following its recent acquisition of Hazlewood in July.

Following a successful decade in sales and marketing within the luxury hospitality sector, Natalie has been integral to the success of Hazlewood Castle and the venue acquiring a four AA star status in 2007.

She joins Ashdale Hotels, founded by Martin Wicks in 2004, with a portfolio of five hotels to date including The Kings Head in Richmond, The Angel & Royal in Grantham, The Dower House in Knaresborough, Grant's Hotel in Harrogate & Hazlewood Castle, Nr Tadcaster.

Natalie's experience spans both the national and international hotel groups within senior management and director roles. She has also worked on a diverse range of world-class projects for private owners and investors. These include the leadership of sales at exclusive country house hotels through to boutique city centre hotels, the development & marketing of a variety of café brands through to Michelin 2-star restaurants, procurement of ecology spa & golf resorts in Spain, the development of luxury villas & spas in Morocco; the launch of luxury apartments in London & Paris, and a multitude of feasibility studies such as the luxury Gate House Hotel in Yorkshire.

An Associate of the Securities & Investments Institute, she also sits on the Young Directors Forum of IOD Yorkshire & the Humber where she is Vice Chairman. Natalie is a practicing Young Director and is presently working towards Chartered Director status.

Natalie comments: "This is a wonderful opportunity for me to join a young and growing organisation that offers a fabulous collection of individual hotels & restaurants to suit most business & pleasure needs.  With our commitment to continual investment & first-class service, I am confident that our vision for Ashdale Hotels to become a major player in the Yorkshire tourism sector will soon be reached."

Martin Wicks, Owner of Ashdale Hotels adds: "Natalie has a proven track record of success within the industry and it was a natural progression for her to become an integral part of Ashdale Hotels to continue driving the business forward."

Hazlewood Castle has invested over half a million pounds upgrading facilities and service to offer guests the ultimate in luxury. Recent improvements include Restaurant Anise, a brand new reception and a new Boardroom, as well as refurbishing all bedrooms with luxurious and designer accessories.
