Bristols Christmas Shoppers Get Their Skis

Thursday, 16 December 2010

easyJet celebrated the launch of two new winter routes from Bristol today (Wednesday 15 December) by bringing an interactive 3D ski slope to Cabot Circus Shopping Centre.

The low-fares airline entertained Christmas shoppers as customers took a break from battling the crowds to pose 'inside' the artwork to create the impression they were skiing into the floor of the centre.

This week easyJet begins operating two new ski routes from Bristol Airport. The airline's new twice weekly service to Salzburg has started operating this week followed by a twice-weekly service to Lyon on 18 December. Both ski routes will operate until April.

Ali Gayward, easyJet UK commercial manager, comments: "Launching two new ski routes from Bristol demonstrates easyJet's commitment to the South West.

"We now offer access to five ski destinations from the city which is great news for the region's skiers who are seeking an affordable way to access the slopes."

easyJet this week also begun operating a twice weekly service to Fuerteventura with fares from £25.99 (one-way including taxes).

Fares on the new ski routes start from £25.99 (one-way including taxes).

easyJet arrived at Bristol Airport in 2001 initially operating five routes and has carried more than 21 million passengers to date. Now the airline has 10 aircraft based at Bristol and carries over three million passengers a year, making easyJet the largest carrier at the airport.
