Cruise Business Signs Multi-Million Pound Deal With Travelsupermarketcom
Thursday, 18 June 2009
Travel business Cruise118.com has completed an exclusive multi-million pound deal to provide cruise holidays for travelsupermarket.com.
Just 12 months after the company launched, Cruise118.com beat off competition from some of the industry's biggest players in a competitive tender to power the price comparison website's cruise pages.
travelsupermarket.com, is introducing cruise holidays for the first time as part of a major overhaul of its website.
Cruise is currently the fastest growing travel sector, with consumers increasingly seeking all inclusive holiday options and prices now comparable to package holidays.
In 2008 almost 1.5 million Brits took a cruise holiday, an 11 percent rise on the previous year.
Mal Barritt, director of Cruise118.com, said: "Despite being relatively new in the industry, we are the market leaders when it comes to customer service and technology which is why there is great synergy with travelsupermarket.com.
"travelsupermarket.com is renowned for finding consumers the best possible prices and it was essential they found a supplier they could rely on to provide the best deals available on thousands of cruise holidays, with the back up of a failsafe IT system and first class customer service.
"This is an exciting development for both Cruise118.com and travels
upermarket.com and we predict it will lead to further growth in the UK cruise market."
Graham Donoghue, managing director at travelsupermarket.com added: "The new site is a major step forward for us and we are delighted to be able to launch with the new cruise product. The new platform opens up opportunity for a wide range of new product, functionality and content in the coming months."
Despite launching at one of the most challenging times in travel industry for several decades, Cruise118.com is the UK's fastest growing cruise retailer, already achieving a multi-million pound turnover and increasing its staff by more than 50 per cent.
The company was also recently named Online Travel Agency of the Year at the 2009 Agent Achievement Awards.
Cruise118.com was launched by Mal and business partner James Cole, both former MyTravel directors, following MyTravel's merger with Thomas Cook.
