Flybe Expands 2014-15 Winter Schedule With Five More Routes

Tuesday, 22 July 2014

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has confirmed its commitment to further growth with the addition today (22nd July 2014) of five more routes to its 2014-15 Winter Schedule.

The expansion includes two brand new routes, one between Birmingham and Berlin Tegel, the German capital'smain international airporton a five-times weekly basis and a new connection between East Midlands to Aberdeen which will operate on weekdays.

The airline’s daily service between Exeter and Newcastle also returns from 26th October, together with two winter ski routes to Geneva from Cardiff and Inverness that start on 20th December.  Seats are on sale now at www.flybe.com with one way fares from £29.99 including taxes and charges.

Paul Simmons, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, comments: “Our commitment to connectivity, both for business and leisure passengers across the UK regions and Europe, continues. Today’s announcement of two more brand new routes and the return of three more clearly demonstrates our ambitions and hunger to deliver a network that meets the needs of our customers. I’m delighted that our newly revised 2014-15 winter schedule now features no less than 16 brand new routes!

“We are particularly excited to be offering Berlin as a brand new destination and to be flying direct from Birmingham to Berlin Tegel, the German capital’s most convenient airport that’s only eight kilometres from the heart of the city’s downtown business district. This is a key destination in Germany for both business and leisure travellers being a key transport hub but also the commercial centre for a wide range of industrial sectors included amongst which are world-leading companies in high tech and engineering. To establish convenient, affordable connections between such two important European cities is something that once again illustrates our commitment to being a ‘One Stop to the World’ and ‘the fastest way from A to Flybe. ”

In total, Flybe’s 2014-15 winter programme now features 105 routes offering customers a choice of up to 2,809 flights a week: 16 routes being brand new, with a further 11 that include seasonal routes returning or being extended for the first time through winter.
