HAMILTON PARK GALLOPS INTO ACTION FOR ITS BEST SEASON YET

The race programme is set, the prize money is higher than ever and now the gates will officially open for the 2016 season at Hamilton Park Racecourse on Sunday 1 May with the Sodexo Family Raceday.
The event is the first of the ground breaking new season comprising 18 fantastic fixtures including the new Super Saturday series sponsored by Jordan Electrics.
Families across Scotland are invited to join in the celebrations with an event that combines top class racing with a host of free, fun-filled children’s activities that will have the little ones smiling from ear to ear.
Youngsters can enjoy an array of free entertainment off the track including face painting, crazy golf, bucking bronco and bungee trampolines whilst the thrilling on track action is set to get the season’s championships underway.
The action packed opening day will feature a fantastic racecard with total prize money of £86,000 up for grabs, including the £28,000 British Stallions Studs EBF Tangerine Trees Conditions Stakes (Class 2) and the £20,000 Totepool Buttonhook Handicap Stakes (Class 3), which is set to be broadcast live on Channel 4 Racing at 2.45pm. The 1000 Guineas, the 2nd British Classic of the year, will also be shown live from Newmarket around the course.

“We have increased overall prize money to its highest level ever, upgraded some key facilities including Red’s Wine Bar and put together an entertainment programme including celebrity talent that has been hand-picked to come to Hamilton Park with the aim of entertaining our crowds from start to finish.

The Sodexo Family Raceday gets underway with gates opening at 12pm - the first race takes place at 1.40pm and the last at 5.05pm. (Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult). Full tickets are also available on the day priced at £22.
