Friday, 28 August 2009

Marks & Spencer announces today that M&S employees are on track to raise in the region of £2million towards M&S' 125 Fundraising Challenge - having smashed their original target of raising £1.25million in 125 days as part of the retailer's 125th birthday celebrations.

As the last few days of fundraising continue, M&S employees in stores and offices throughout Scotland and nationwide are continuing to raise money for local and regional charities before the 2nd September deadline.

To celebrate the culmination of the fundraising activities, the M&S retail leadership team is visiting every single Marks & Spencer main chain store across the country to congratulate employees for their efforts.

From the 2nd to 4th September, Steve Finlan, Divisional Director - Premier, Major and High Street, will be visiting Marks & Spencer stores across Scotland to present the fundraising proceeds to the stores' chosen charities. The team will be using a special fleet of medium size vehicles that have been provided by BMW.*

Fundraising teams for each of the M&S stores in Scotland have led their colleagues in a host of activities to raise fund for their local charities.

Steve Finlan, Divisional Director - Premier, Major and High Street, said: "I would like to congratulate our stores across the country for their hard work and dedication to raising these impressive amounts of money for their chosen charities.

"Our stores are firmly committed to working with local communities and as we celebrate our 125th anniversary it is great to see how much our employees care about supporting local causes".
