Oarsome Iod Team Gets Stuck Into Charity Challenge

The team of 16 business leaders donned Roman fancy dress before joining more than 40 other boats all powering down the waterways of Leeds' Clarence Dock on Saturday in aid of the Leeds Community Foundation which supports over 1000 community groups in Leeds.

Nigel Sikora, Chairman of the IoD's West Yorkshire branch comments: "We felt this event was a perfect way to get members together in a more relaxed, non-business setting, although our competitiveness still came through despite the fancy dress!

"The threat of capsizing also kept us on our toes, but I'm happy to say we stayed afloat and made it through all three heats, raising over £700 for Leeds Community Foundation which is a great local cause."
