Pudsey Bear Eyes Up An Opportunity To Visit Local Opticians (1)

Wednesday, 24 November 2010

STAFF at Specsavers in Pocklington welcomed Pudsey, the world's most famous bear, to town last week as he joined them for its Children in Need fundraising day.

On Saturday 20 November, Pocklington shoppers dug deep and pledged more than £340 in donations to the popular charity.

Robert Winlow, store director at Specsavers in Market Place, says: 'We had a great day. The whole team was involved in preparing for our fundraising day and with their enthusiasm and charitable spirit I knew the day would be a great success.'

The day was filled with fun activities for everyone visiting the Specsavers store and staff handed out goody bags and balloons to everyone who visits on Saturday.

Customers were invited to try their luck at winning some of the many prizes that were up for grabs on the tombola, such as spectacle cleaning kits to luxury hand creams. The store also operated a one-day Specs-station where anyone could come along and receive a free glasses MOT. Staff cleaned lenses, repaired frames and made adjustments to ensure specs fitted correctly and comfortably - all for a charitable donation to Children in Need.
