Thursday, 11 August 2011
The director of St Johns shopping centre in Liverpool is gearing up for an energetic fundraising initiative on behalf of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
Ian Ward hopes to raise £1,000 for the charity by running 10k of the blustery Blackpool promenade on Saturday 24 September.
Ian hopes that his efforts will set a high benchmark and encourage other St Johns retail and management staff to get involved with further fundraising ideas.
He comments: "I'm no athlete, but if I can motivate myself and complete this challenge I'm hoping a few more people will follow suit and push themselves to achieve something outside their comfort zone - all in the name of charity!"
