Spectacular Success Leads To Store Expansion

Wednesday, 03 November 2010

ONE of the most successful shops in Goole is celebrating nine successful years of trading in the heart of the town by officially re-launching its newly-extended store.

Specsavers in Boothferry Road has completed a £90,000 first floor expansion adding an additional 656sq ft to the opticians. The investment has tripled the number of eye examination rooms to six and seen the addition of a contact lens suite.

Local businessman and Goole Specsavers store director Rob Winlow says: 'We're really excited to be launching our brand new store to the people of Goole. Our customers and team are the heart and soul of the store so it's imperative that we have a store that is spacious, welcoming and full of the latest equipment so we can deliver the ultimate service each and every day.

'Our aim has always been to provide optimum service for our customers, offering great expertise combined with exceptional prices.'

Mr Winlow first opened as an independent optician in Goole in 1983 where he employed two receptionists and tested for just two and a half days a week. In 2001 he set up the joint venture with Specsavers and the business has gone from strength to strength. The store had only ten team members then but has now grown to employ 15 full and part time staff. The team has also grown its customer list and now provides its optical expertise to more than 28,000 people across Goole seven days a week.
