Spectacular Success Leads To Store Refurbishment
Thursday, 03 February 2011
ONE of the most successful retailers in Scunthorpe is celebrating 19 years of trading in the heart of the town by undertaking a store refurbishment.
Specsavers, located at 54 High Street, has completed a £15,000 refurbishment to enhance the look and feel of the opticians for its customers.
The investment means the store has undergone a layout redesign which has created a much brighter and airier feel and allows customers to navigate through the extensive range of 1,300 frames more easily.
Local businessman and Scunthorpe Specsavers store director Andrew Mortimer says: 'We're really excited about our new look store. Our customers and team are the heart and soul of the store so it's imperative that we have a store that is spacious, welcoming and full of the most innovative equipment and frames so we can deliver the best service each and every day.
'By incorporating state-of-the-art display stands we've been able to add an additional 200 glasses to our collection meaning our customers now have an even greater choice of the latest frames.'
During Specsavers' 19-year history the store has grown from one to two shop units doubling its floorspace. The team has grown from six to 40 staff and they now dispense more than 20,000 pairs of specs each year. They have also seen a massive increase in contact lenses popularity as more than 100, 000 lenses are dispensed each year.
As well as providing the latest optical care, including free fundus camera tests for over 40s, Scunthorpe Specsavers launched a Hearcare division four years ago which now provides Hearcare services for more than 800 customers.
