TESCO is pulling out all the stops to support Glasgow Pride this weekend.

On Saturday 20 August, stores across Glasgow will join in the annual LGBT festival, displaying rainbow bunting, balloons, and even arranging their fruit and vegetable displays to reflect the Pride colours.

Five Tesco stores along the parade route will also turn the iconic Tesco chevrons the rainbow colours of Pride to show their support .The five stores on route will also sell exclusive F+F Pride t-shirts with the design being inspired through quotes from customers and colleagues about what Pride means to them.

As well as in-store activity, a 40-foot Tesco delivery truck will take part in the Pride parade. Decked out with a dance floor, bubble machines and a DJ, the truck will play songs as selected by Tesco customers.  Tesco colleagues will also be handing out bottles of water and sweets and parade goers will have the opportunity to have their faces painted.

Alongside their Pride activities, Tesco are also supporting LGBT Switchboard. For over 40 years LGBT Switchboard has run a helpline supporting millions across the UK and sales from the exclusive t-shirts will go to the charity.

John Dickinson, Head of Out at Tesco’s Network says: "We know Glasgow Pride is such a fun and vibrant event and that's why we're proud to be supporting this year. Over 50 of our colleagues will be taking part in the parade and stores across Glasgow will be getting into the spirit with Pride themed signs, balloons and bunting."

Out at Tesco is the largest LGBT network in Europe with over 1,500 members from within the business. It aims to attract, support and develop the LGBT community within the work place, so that our colleagues feel confident to be themselves at work.
