Visit Inspiration Behind Fantastic Mr Fox Roald Dahl Day
Thursday, 09 September 2010
Those looking to celebrate Roald Dahl Day on 13th September can experience something special with a stay at the property that was inspiration for the recent Fantastic Mr Fox film.
Hindon Organic Farm is a working farm, situated in a West Country valley where Exmoor meets the sea. The farm is located within Exmoor National Park, with many farm animals and wildlife such as Exmoor ponies and red deer on the moor.
The farm is the gateway to a perfect Exmoor holiday. Accommodation at Hindon Organic Farm is situated in either an 18th century self catering holiday cottage or the traditional farmhouse B&B, and includes a fantastic breakfast with the farm's award-winning produce.
The Fantastic Mr Fox production team visited the farm which provided some inspiration for the film's settings.
Penny Webber, from Hindon Organic Farm comments: "Before Fantastic Mr Fox was made, the production team came to visit the farm to see where Mr Fox would live in the countryside, and to see a real farmhouse kitchen.
"After their visit, they sent us a drawing of our farm kitchen accompanied by a letter which said that it helped with their inspiration for the kitchen in the animation"
Roald Dahl Day takes place annually on 13th September, on the birthday of the World's No.1 Storyteller, where people celebrate the life of Roald Dahl and appreciate his works.
