Accountants have a valuable role to play but I’d never
put them in charge of my company.

They make great number twos but in my book, a retailer
should be in charge of a retail brand, an engineer should
be in charge of a technology business and a marketer
should be in charge of PR agency.

Accountants don’t create, they control. They control
costs, headcount and marketing budgets.

A penny saved can be more valued by an accountant
than a penny earned.

Profit, of course, should be at the forefront of all our
minds.

When I think of accountants, I never forget the old
saying – money talks but it doesn’t have a soul!
