Samantha Geer joins award-winning, international integrated communications and marketing firm, Beattie Tartan, to lead the Vancouver office as Director, Pacific Northwest.
Geer brings an unmatched level of knowledge, expertise and relationships earned from her twenty-five years in key public relations, media and marketing roles within Canada’s lifestyle, travel and hospitality industries. Sam – as she’s best known – specializes in media and public relations, communications strategy, special events, digital marketing and social media.
Joining Geer are her long-time team members, Kelsey Millman and Marika Mousseau, each bringing their own impressive skillsets. The talented trio are excited to make their mark in a growing agency that continues to make an impact in Canada’s PR and marketing sector.
Beattie Tartan was formed in 2017 in Victoria, BC when Canada’s Tartan Group merged with the UK top integrated communications agency, Beattie Group (founded in 1986), to establish a new integrated, Canada-wide firm. Now with full-service hubs in Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto, and additional representation in Ottawa, Montreal and Winnipeg, Beattie Tartan also taps into over 130 PR and marketing experts across the UK, and associates across the US. Together, Beattie Tartan and Beattie Group’s vast roster of clients span industries including travel, tourism, hospitality, technology, cannabis, fashion, beauty, health and wellness, luxury retail brands, arts and entertainment, lifestyle, culture, design, real estate and charity/non-profit.
“As we grow across Canada it’s clear there are business opportunities across the Pacific Northwest and northern Canada. Recruiting someone with Sam’s expertise, network and energy is a real coup.” says Deirdre Campbell, managing director, North America. “We grew up together in the local PR industry and now Sam joins this fantastic cross-country team who will grow Beattie Tartan together which for me is incredibly exciting.”
Known for her unmistakable laugh, enthusiasm and joyful approach, Geer joins Beattie Tartan from her most recent role as co-founder and Partner of Avenue PR. Established in 2010, the business grew into one of Vancouver’s leading tourism, travel, hospitality and lifestyle marketing communications agencies. Prior to Avenue PR, Geer was director of public relations for Fairmont Hotels and Resorts in Jesper and Victoria and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in Toronto, Vancouver and Whistler. Throughout her career, Geer built a strong reputation for generating out-of-the-box ideas, developing irresistible story angles, forging long-lasting relationships with media, influencers and industry members and driving business development. Her natural ability to fuel her team and clients with infectious energy and vibrancy are evidence of her deep-rooted passion for marketing communications.
“I have found a wonderful group of partners to collaborate with within the Beattie Tartan family,” says Geer. “I look forward to working with my team on continuing to build the company in years to come.” Looking forward, the Pacific Northwest office will draw on the team’s depth of experience working with internationally recognized brands to provide consistent, high-level results. The Pacific-Northwest Beattie Tartan team is currently working with JW Marriott Parq Vancouver, the DOUGLAS, Pacific Sands Beach Resort, Watermark Beach Resort, Pan Pacific Whistler hotels, Josie hotel, The Adventure Group and British Columbia Hotel Association, among Beattie Tartan’s existing client base.
