BEATTIE SUPPORTS RISING TALENT WITH FASHION INTERNSHIP
Monday, 03 December 2018
Beattie, the integrated communications agency, has appointed higher education student Rebecca Longbottom to join its specialist retail team as fashion intern.
The paid internship will give Rebecca a unique insight into the world of fashion communications and marketing.
The agency, which has offices in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow and Edinburgh, launched its Beattie Rising Stars initiative earlier this year to make it easier for students to get on the career ladder.
Rebecca is currently an undergraduate in multimedia journalism at Manchester Metropolitan University. Speaking about her recent appointment, she said: “I feel really lucky to be part of the team at Beattie.
“I believe this internship is bringing a professional aspect to my university work as well as time management skills in order to balance the two. The team are accommodating, patient and helpful when it comes to teaching me new skills. I am grateful for this internship and my personal aim is move up the career ladder internally at Beattie.”
Rachel Gladwin, director of Beattie North and Midlands, said: “Rebecca is one of a long list of interns who have joined Beattie to jump start their careers. We give real experience that works hand in hand with higher education. Our mentors give valuable advice on how to develop the professional networks, skills and expertise to set yourself apart from the competition.
“Let’s not forget that many of our rising stars come to us for work experience and never leave. Some have progressed through the company to take senior positions.”
Beattie committed to offering work experience, paid internships and jobs to up to 30 higher education students in 2018.
