It’s All Kids Play At Beattie Manchester

Manchester PR agency Beattie Communications has picked up two new briefs to provide PR services for children’s toy and gaming brands.
The agency, which has a specialist kids PR division, has been appointed to promote a range of new kids’ gaming accessories for KidzPLAY, the official the PlayStation3 accessories developer for kids. The KidzPLAY range has been designed specifically for little hands, and comprises a host of children’s gaming controllers, which are set to hit the shelves this autumn to sit alongside key Sony PlayStation releases from Skylanders and Disney Infinity.
Beattie will launch the series of PS3 controllers to the Christmas gifting press, mummy and daddy bloggers, as well as providing digital marketing services to drive earned media coverage via social media and online channels.
The Beattie Manchester team has also picked up an on-going project from licensed brand Punky Princess, which has ranges stocked by the likes of Smyth Toys and Shop Direct Group. The agency has been tasked with driving engagement with the brand amongst the tween girl audience, as well as raising its profile amongst the licensing and toy trade media.
The agency is already in the throes of implementing a media relations and social media campaign for the brand, which has seen it grace the covers of tween bibles Star and Girl Talk Art, as well as feature in Bliss, Shout, Go Girl, Girl and Girls and Co, and will be supporting the brand’s presence at the upcoming 2013 Brand Licensing Europe.
Lyndsey Evans, who heads up Beattie’s Manchester PR office, and who also ran the brand PR for the major toy retailer, woolworths.co.uk, said: “Beattie has a strong heritage in PR campaigns specifically focused on the kids, teen and parenting markets. Currently we are running campaigns for a host of household brands including promoting kids ranges for Specsavers, supporting Simple’s Teen Simple portal and going on the road with a huge Huggies experiential campaign.”
She adds: “As we prepare to kick-start our hardworking and far-reaching campaigns for both of these fantastic brands, alongside Christmas product placement campaigns for existing clients, our Manchester PR office is starting to resemble Father Christmas’ grotto.”
