JOINING FORCES WITH TESCO TO SHOW EVERY LITTLE HELPS
Thursday, 14 December 2017
Staff from Beattie, the integrated communications agency, collected trolley loads of essential food supplies for those in need at Tesco stores across the UK this festive season.
Beattie’s UK teams showed support for Tesco’s Food Collection in aid of charities FareShare and The Trussell Trust from 30 November until 2 December, with staff volunteering their time at collection points from Glasgow to London.
Beattie CEO Laurna Woods said: “The Food Collection is an important campaign which has seen 43 million meals collected for those in need since its launch a decade ago.
“We are big believers that every little helps and were delighted to offer our support at our local collection points this year.
“As a business operating in major cities across the UK, we recognise the important role we can play in supporting our communities.
“Christmas time can be an especially hard time for people to make ends meet and the donations will really make a difference.”
Donations to foodbanks in The Trussell Trust’s network is given in emergency food parcels to people referred because they cannot afford to feed themselves and their families.
Food donated to FareShare is distributed to charities and community groups who use it to provide meals for vulnerable groups such as isolated older people and those in homeless shelters.
The donations collected at Tesco stores across the country during the drive will be now be topped up by 20 percent by Tesco.
Beattie is an integrated communications consultancy with 12 offices across the UK and Ireland.
