A Very Royal Portrait

The 'Royal Family' had their alternative family portrait taken this week to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in style.
After a whirlwind start to their nationwide whistle stop tour, the Royals could be forgiven for feeling a little weary but not so for this royal cast. 'The Queen', accompanied by 'The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge', found time to pop into Venture Photography's Eton studio in The Royal Borough of Windsor to capture the mood of the nation ahead of the big day and a landmark summer of events in Britain.
The UK's biggest portrait photography company produced the unique portraits showing behind-the-scenes Jubilee celebration shots, as imagined by Venture, rolling out the red carpet to welcome their 'royal' guests, which even included one of the Queen's famous pet corgis.
Photographer Kat Bartlett, who was charged with snapping the spoof, sought to bring out the personalities of The Queen, Will and Kate - as the nation might like to view them - celebrating the occasion and enjoying family time together.
The royal trio are snapped playing with a beloved family pet, enjoying a Jubilee party and even indulging in a family game of Twister together.
Kat said: "We thought it would be fun to show the royals celebrating the Jubilee just like any of us would and give a unique insight into what life might be like behind closed doors at the Palace.
"Recently lots of clients have been getting into the Jubilee spirit by bringing street party items along to family photoshoots and requesting red, white and blue graphics to mark the occasion. We couldn't resist the chance to invite our lookalikes - Mary (The Queen), Heidi (Kate), Andy (William) and Penny (the corgi) - into the studio to take the ultimate family portrait of the most famous family in the UK.
"At Venture we are proud to be a British brand and are looking forward to what is set to be an exciting summer celebrating all things British. We hope the real royals like our light-hearted take on what their Venture shoot might be like and enjoy their part in the celebrations."
Venture Eton is no stranger to royalty having had the privilege of being commissioned to capture private images of the real Prince William and Prince Harry while they were attending Eton College. The studio location in historic Eton, just a stone's throw from Windsor Castle, has been operated by a photography company since 1850 and The Queen too was photographed, under the studio's previous management.
Venture Photography is a national network of studios which specialises in personalised family portraits, often including the all-important family pet.
