Adare Signs Multi- Million Deal With Mitchells Butlers

Wednesday, 01 April 2009

Mitchells & Butlers, the UK's leading operator of managed pubs and pub restaurants, has entered into a £multi-million Print Management deal with Adare.

The contract will support all 22 of Mitchells & Butlers' brands and formats across the UK, such as All Bar One, Browns, Ember Inns, Harvester, O'Neill's, Toby Carvery, and Vintage Inns, and covers marketing print, point of sale, menus, signage, direct mail, operational print, merchandise and fulfilment.  The deal will also cover the needs of other business areas including HR, Training & Development and Corporate.

The service will be delivered through a dedicated account team working closely with each Brand Manager and their associated agencies, utilising Adare's award-winning Marketing Communications Centre (MC2) portal to drive operational and process improvements in managing the individual procurement process for each brand.

Mitchells & Butlers' key drivers in identifying a new partner were not only the need for a first class customer service solution tailored to each brand's particular requirements, but also long term transparency and procurement integrity across the broader supply chain - which are delivered in real-time through Adare's P2 e-procurement platform.

Robert Whiteside, chief executive officer at Adare, comments: "We are absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to build a long-term relationship with Mitchells & Butlers.  There are very few print management companies that really understand the intricacies of supporting an organisation with the diversity of brands that Mitchells & Butlers' operates - we are effectively treating this as winning 22 separate contracts.

"We rely on the power of our e-procurement platform (P2) to consolidate the spend and achieve absolute best leverage in the market - this allows our Client Services team to do what they're best at - being an integral part of the Brand Manager / Agency interaction to deliver real value to each brand."

Fraser Hoare, Corporate Procurement at Mitchells & Butlers adds: "It's important for us to work with an organisation that really grasps our world and knows what it takes to support our diverse brand portfolio; an organisation that can build instant trust with our Brand Managers and Agencies and consistently deliver on price, quality and timescales.

"In Adare we believe we have found an ideal partner to meet our immediate tactical needs - we have already seen impressive positive cost impact - whilst working with us as we develop a best of breed approach to Marketing Communications, via print or other channels."

Whiteside concludes: "As a business, in the last two years, we have made a significant investment in our people, our technology, our broader Marketing Services proposition and our global reach.  We are delighted to have secured this contract with Mitchells & Butlers as this is real confirmation that we have a proposition that is aligned to the market's requirements.  Something that has been further recognised through the awards that we have won this year (the QIP "2008 Print Management Award" and "Best Use of B2B Internet Technology" at the European Retail Solutions Awards)."
