Beattie, the integrated communications agency, has promoted Rachel Gladwin to the newly created role of managing director for England and Wales while Joanne Spence becomes managing director for Scotland and Digital.

In her new role, Gladwin will be responsible for Beattie’s HQ in London following the departure of Jacquie Boyd-Coleman, who resigned from the agency last month to pursue new interests. Gladwin will also look after business hubs in Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds, and expansion into Wales.

Spence will head up the Beattie offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as driving forward the digital and content teams.

“I wish Jacquie all the best for the future and couldn’t ask for two more enterprising and inspirational people than Rachel and Joanne to drive things forward”, said CEO Laurna Woods.

“Joanne has been our Scottish MD for many years and I look forward to her helping our content and digital teams to even more success.

Gladwin said: “I’m delighted to accept the new role and I look forward to working with Laurna, Joanne and our people across the country to deliver even more success for Beattie Communications.”

Spence said: “COVID was a blow which saw us losing 49% of our fee income overnight but most of our clients are now back on stream and we’re stronger than ever, having added more than £500k of new fees during lockdown.”

Gladwin joined Beattie seven years ago while Spence has been with the agency for 13 years. Clients include Specsavers, La Redoute and Tesco.

Beattie has 16 offices in Britain, Ireland and Canada including Belfast, Vancouver and Toronto.
