Unique fashion and lifestyle retailer JOY is opening a brand new store in Glasgow, in a prime location within Buchanan Galleries.
The quirky fashion brand currently has two Edinburgh stores, and thanks to customer demand will be opening their new Glasgow store in mid-August 2012.
JOY caters for men and women supplying handpicked brands, including the company's principal womenswear label Louche. The top fashion retailer also stocks stylish accessories and tongue-in-cheek gifts.
JOY has agreed a 10-year lease on a 2,290 sq ft unit at the top city centre shopping destination, at a rent of £120,000 per annum.
The new store will be located in the atrium and two units are in the process of being merged to accommodate the retailer.
Maureen O'Brien, creative director at JOY, said: "JOY is delighted to be opening a brand new Glasgow store in the city's go-to shopping destination, Buchanan Galleries.
"We have been looking for the right location in Glasgow for some time, keen to take advantage of the impressive retail and rich cultural scene in Scotland's biggest city and are excited to have finally found a prime retail space in Glasgow.
"We believe our product offering is as diverse and exciting as the Glaswegian customer and hope to provide a unique shopping environment that is reflective of our newest Scottish location."
The deal has been welcomed by centre owners Buchanan Partnership - a joint venture between Land Securities and Henderson Global investors.
Speaking on behalf of the partnership, Katherine Armstead, senior portfolio manager for Land Securities, said: "Buchanan Galleries prides itself in having a diverse range of retailers that will appeal to all of our shoppers.
