Businesses answer fundraising call at Big Charity Quiz
Tuesday, 11 September 2018
Hundreds of people from local businesses around Glasgow came out to compete for the chance to be crowned champions at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity’s ‘Big Charity Quiz of the Year’ – raising over £15,000 in the process.
More than 250 guests attended the inaugural event which was held on Friday 7th September at Principal Grand Central Hotel, and all battled hard for the quiz crown, or in this case ‘cone’, as well as giving generously to raise a total of over £15,000.
Quiz Master for the afternoon was TV’s Sally Gray, who took the teams through a host of classic and unique categories – with plenty of additional entertainment and chances to win extra prizes between rounds.
Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity will use the money raised to help fund much-needed support for young patients at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow as well as their families. Funds will go towards innovative play programmes, family support services, enhanced medical equipment and much more.
Kirsten Sinclair, Chief Operating Officer at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “It was wonderful to see hundreds come together to support our young patients.
“Glasgow businesses have really got behind our Big Charity Quiz of the Year and their support has been incredible. They were all vying to be crowned winners, as well as being eager to show their support. There was plenty of healthy competition, but everyone truly came together to raise as much money as possible for our brave and inspirational young patients.
“We are exceptionally grateful to everyone that attended the event for their generosity, and to our sponsors MacRoberts and QTS, whose ongoing support and generous contributions make events like this possible.”
