Cults Academy’s choir has received a £400 donation towards the purchase of a new portable piano from housebuilder CALA Homes.

Around 15 pupils from the high school’s choir performed a selection of Christmas carols for guests at CALA’s Sound of Christmas celebration at its Cults Park sales suite.

Spectators enjoyed festive singing alongside mince pies and refreshments, a Christmas photo booth and four live reindeer. Little ones were also able to write and post their letters to Santa.

CALA thanked the choir for its superb performance with a donation towards a new portable piano which will be used for similar events.

Fraser Carr, Sales and Marketing Director for CALA Homes (North), said: “Our festive celebration was enjoyed by all and the choir’s fantastic renditions of carols really helped spread some Christmas cheer.

“We were so impressed by the performance we wanted to give something back to the school’s music department. Contributing towards a new piano was a very fitting way to thank the choir as it will help enable them to perform for other groups in the future.”

Anna Muirhead, Head Teacher at Cults Academy added: “We were delighted with CALA’s donation and our music department is very much looking forward to purchasing a new piano.

“Our staff and pupils were only too happy to perform for CALA and I’m very pleased to hear the carols were enjoyed by all.”
