Tuesday, 31 May 2011
Land Securities has appointed David Carson as the new Centre Manager of the Overgate shopping centre in Dundee.
David (49) has considerable retail experience having spent the past five years with Land Securities, most recently as manager of its Livingston shopping destination The Centre. Prior to joining Land Securities David worked in retail management, retail store ops and wholesale.
The Overgate is dubbed the "jewel in Dundee's retail crown" - in his new role David will seek to further strengthen its tenant mix develop it as a premier shopping destination.
He said: "Our Dundee centre is a very different proposition to Livingston - whist it has a smaller footprint it enjoys a high footfall which presents new challenges. I am confident that we can build upon the already impressive mix of retailers which includes anchor store Debenhams and many other top high street names including Primark and New Look."
Katherine Armstead, portfolio manager, Land Securities, said: "David has a wealth of retail experience and has been instrumental in the growing success of The Centre in Livingston. He was the ideal candidate to manage the Overgate and help it to grow and prosper."
