EDINBURGH HOTEL STAFF TAKE PART IN FIVE-DAY HIKE FOR HOPSCOTCH CHARITY
Wednesday, 05 September 2018
A team of kind-hearted staff from a four-star Edinburgh hotel are putting their best foot forward and taking part in a week-long hike in Orkney to raise funds for an Edinburgh children’s charity.
The four-strong team from the Capital’s boutique Bonham hotel are donning their hiking boots and walking around 60miles of tough terrain in and around mainland Orkney from 18 to 24 September.
Event organiser and duty manager for The Bonham, Lee Walker, said: “We wanted to do something as a team which would challenge us and decided that we could raise money for a worthy cause at the same time.
“We chose Hopscotch Children’s Charity in Edinburgh as it provides respite breaks for some of Scotland’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged children and its values are very similar to those of The Bonham: warm and generous, distinctive and local at heart.
“We are funding the trip ourselves and every penny we raise will go directly to Hopscotch.”
Participants from The Bonham are: duty manager, Lee Walker; concierge, Lukas Kulvietis; assistant night manager, Alfonso Lopez and Chef De Partie, Michal Strzelecki. Cumbria-based travel photographer, Chris Gouge will also be taking part in the hike.
