Thursday, 14 March 2013
Oxfordshire-based Newton Europe has added another national award to its growing collection of accolades by claiming the Best Business Award for Best Employer.
The Best Business Awards are one of the UKs highest profile awards and attract a wide range of entries from across all sectors from large international PLCs and public sector organisations to dynamic and innovative SMEs.
Commenting on the award to Newton Europe in the Best Employer category, Andrew Areoff, Chairman of the Judges, said: “What really impressed the judges is the way Newton Europe has gone about doing just everything it can to retain ambitious and talented young graduates.
“It employs the cream from the top universities and realising that its people are its future, it is vital to the company that these young recruits stay with the company. To keep them interested and challenged, it has implemented a number of schemes including fast-track promotions, mentoring and social events.
“Looking after its staff is a strategy that has paid off, and since its launch in 2001 Newton has achieved year-on-year growth of 35%.”
It is the second major award Newton has picked up in the past six months, after also landing the ‘Business Enabler of the Year’ title at the National Business Awards in partnership with Orange.
Newton’s credentials as a top employer were further underlined recently when working graduates named it among the best in the country to work for.
The company was ranked second in the UK after software giant Microsoft in a survey conducted by TheJobCrowd.com recruitment website.
The study looked at how satisfied graduates in their first three years of employment were with their job, rating their employers on criteria such as opportunities for advancement, colleague interaction, responsibility, training, work-life balance and benefits.
Established in 2001, Newton Europe works with a diverse range of clients across both the private and public sectors, in manufacturing, services, through to defence, NHS Trusts and Local Government.
The business has continued to achieve significant growth year-on-year and is also committed to increasing its graduate headcount by 25 per cent in the next 12 months as it continues to grow its client portfolio across current and new sectors.
Andrew Hawes, Director at Newton, said: “We work exceptionally hard at recruiting the very best candidates, training them to the highest standard and making Newton a rewarding environment to work in.
“The key to our success has been building a team of engaged and motivated people who can deliver exceptional results for clients.
“To be recognised for our investment in our people is fantastic, and we are committed to raising the bar in terms of employee satisfaction so that our staff can focus on supporting the public sector and industry in meeting their efficiency challenges in a very tough financial climate.”
