Entertainers get revved up for Country Fair
Wednesday, 03 July 2019
Galloway Country Fair’s entertainment programme now has added horsepower, as world champion trial rider Dougie Lampkin MBE joins the line-up.
Back after a thrilling display on the Sunday of last year’s event, visitors to Galloway Country Fair 2019 can witness his electrifying tricks on both 17 and 18 August at Drumlanrig Castle.
Dougie joins an already pumped up programme featuring quad bike stunt man Paul Hannam, who is this year’s headline act.
Attendees can witness displays from riders at the very top of their fields, with both Dougie and Paul showcasing intricate precision riding and breath-taking jumps on two and four wheels in the main Buccleuch ring.
Paul will also be inviting some of the best Quad Bike and MX British Championships riders available in the UK today to join him each day meaning Fair-goers will have the opportunity to get a closer look at the bikes, meet the riders and snap a selfie at a stand after their performances.
Anna Fergusson, Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate Manager, said: “Drumlanrig Castle has been home of The Classic Grand National Scramble for several years, making it the perfect backdrop for such exhilarating entertainment.
“We’re excited to bring something a little bit different to our Galloway Country Fair audience this year and, as world class acts, Dougie and Paul’s stunts are not to be missed.”
Regular attendees to the Dumfriesshire Fair won’t be disappointed as a number of event favourites will return for 2019. From Elite Falconry displays, Borderlines fishing demos, and horse whisperer Grant Basin to Stars Dog Agility and Terrier Racing, Galloway Country Fair caters for all.
And not forgetting the free kid’s activity zone from Team Challenge and dedicated craft, food and drink trade tents with live demonstrations across the weekend – revellers are set for an action packed day out.
