Just days after announcing a new route to Dusseldorf from its Doncaster Sheffield base as part of its 2016—17 Winter programme, Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has confirmed it will also be operating Saturday flights to Chambery in the Rhone-Alps region of south eastern France from 17th December.  Tickets are available for booking from today (31st March 2016) at www.flybe.com with one way fares from £44.99 including taxes and charges.

Chambery is renowned as the gateway to a number of Alpine Ski resorts given its proximity to Mont Blanc, offering Yorkshire winter sports’ enthusiasts easy access to some of the finest slopes and facilities in the world.

The Savoie Mont Blanc region boasts some 17 areas, over 110 resorts, and 4,800 km of slopes offering a range of holidays for all abilities. It includes the world famous Courchevel les Ménuires, Méribel and Val Thorens resorts which are just over 60 miles away from the airport.  Chambery offers wider tourism options being next to Lake Bourget, offering breath taking views through many walking routes as well a historical and culturally focussed city centre.

Flybe’s Chief Revenue Officer, Vincent Hodder said: “As Europe’s largest regional airline, we specialise in connecting the UK regions to Europe so we are pleased to add to our already extensive winter schedule from Doncaster Sheffield, the two additional new routes to Dusseldorf and Chambery. We see them as a natural addition to our network from our new base and are confident they will prove attractive options both for business travel and for winter getaways.”

Steve Gill, managing director of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, comments: “We are delighted to be adding a further destination to our Flybe winter programme to Chambery, coming swiftly on the back of announcing the new Dusseldorf flights. Being able to include a winter sports’ destination as part of our winter programme is a great addition to offer our customers alongside a number of winter sun destinations.”

Announced just last week, Flybe’s new year-round Dusseldorf service starts on 30th October and will operate four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays.
