Give us a wave in Glasgow for Red Nose Day

Monday, 13 March 2017

FORMER Miss Scotland, Nicola Mimnagh, joined staff at Specsavers in Glasgow to give the high street favourite a spec-tacular makeover ahead of Red Nose Day.

The Glasgow beauty queen modelled the exclusive waving hands glasses while Trongate staff put the finishing touches to the store in preparation for Comic Relief.

Available in adult and children’s sizes, the waving hand frames can be purchased in Specsavers stores nationwide and cost £2, with all money raised going straight to Comic Relief.

As well as selling the novelty specs in store, Specsavers Trongate will host a bake sale and dress down day on Friday 24 March in an effort to raise as much money as possible for the iconic fundraising day.

Dave Quigley, store director at Specsavers in Trongate, says: ‘We are ready for Red Nose Day and want to encourage the people of Glasgow to join us in our fundraising efforts.

‘We want all Glaswegians who buy a pair of the Red Nose Day glasses to join in on a giant Mexican wave on social media too. Simply strike a pose with your specs and post with #GiveUsAWave to receive your very own wave back.’

Specsavers stores across Glasgow have stores across the nation to support Comic Relief by pledging to raise at least £250,000 this Red Nose Day to help change countless lives both here in the UK and across Africa.

The opticians has been a Red Nose Day partner since 2015.
