Green light for Crieff golf

Tuesday, 26 May 2020

Scotland’s leading leisure resort, Crieff Hydro Hotel in Perthshire, is making preparations to re-open its Culcrieff Golf Club including the nine-hole course, driving range, crazy golf, disc golf and foot golf.

The Crieff Hydro golf facilities will officially recommence on Friday 29 May with social distancing rules in play and will be available from 9am to 5pm, seven days a week.

This is the first tentative step of reopening for Crieff Hydro Hotel which closed its doors in March following UK Government guidance and restrictions.

The picturesque grounds at Crieff offers golf for all the family, from seasoned pros practicing their back swing on the challenging nine-hole par three to competitive youngsters playing foot or frisbee golf and what’s more, parents are getting to play for free with every kids pass purchased.

As a sport golf is a rewarding solo-venture but it’s also a fantastic way for families to spend quality time together outdoors. The nine-hole course is set in the Strathearn Valley with atmospheric views of Ben Vorlich and Ben More, the ideal remedy for locals who are keen to get out and active after several weeks in lockdown.

To mark the relaunch of golfing at Crieff, the team has created a Kid’s Golf Pass allowing unlimited golf access and 50 daily balls for the driving range, all for £49. It’s valid for one month and also entitles one adult free entry with every pass purchased for a child under 18 years old.

Richard Leckie, Action Glen Manager at Crieff Hydro Hotel, said: “We’ve been closely monitoring the guidance from the Scottish Government and maintaining regular contact with our team and valued customers throughout lockdown.

“We welcomed the recent announcement which enables us to make the first steps in resuming operations and welcoming visitors back to Crieff Hydro through our golf facilities.

“This is an exciting move not only for golf lovers but for local people to the resort who are keen to get active and spend some time outdoors. Our parents go free with our new kids pass adds a great value element as well.

“We conducted a survey with our mailing list and received more than 14,500 responses. It was clear people were keen to get back to enjoying the great outdoors and we’ve taken all their feedback on-board, enhancing protocols to ensure the health and safety of everyone is a top priority.”
