HAMILTON Park Racecourse is delighted to announce multi-award winning Scottish chef Gary Maclean will launch another sizzling season at the premier Lanarkshire venue.
Glasgow born Gary, who won Masterchef: The Professionals in 2016 and was recently announced as Scotland’s first National Chef, will design and oversee the hospitality menu at the Totepool Family Raceday on Sunday 6 May, the opening day of the 2018 season.
The 45-year-old’s menu will feature dishes influenced by his time on Masterchef, and he will also hold cookery demonstrations for the public on the day.
The announcement comes as the second phase of refurbishment to the grandstand gets underway, with the transformation of the hospitality boxes due to be unveiled for the season opener.
Phase one of the extensive re-modelling project saw the whole of the grandstand’s first floor redeveloped with full renovations taking place across the Duke’s Bar and Restaurant, Panorama Bar and the Conservatory Café.
Following fantastic feedback on this year’s improvements, the latest investment is set to elevate the venue’s facilities to new levels. 2018 hospitality bookings are now available, with those taking advantage of the exclusive packages for the 6 May benefiting from Gary’s culinary expertise.
The Hamilton Park executive is already planning for the 2018 season and Gary’s appearance at the Totepool Family Raceday is just one of a number of attractions set to whet the appetite of racegoers on the day.
The first of 18 exciting fixtures for the season, the Totepool Family Raceday – with children going free – combines top class racing action with a host of fun-filled activities for the kids, all included in the ticket price.
Vivien Currie, Chief Executive at Hamilton Park Racecourse, said: “The 2018 season is sure to get off to a sizzling start with our fantastic Totepool Family Raceday and we’re thrilled to be working with Scotland’s first ever National Chef on our menu for the day.
“We already have all the perfect ingredients for a great family day out, but there will be much more announced in the coming months.
“Last year’s refurbishment changed the face of the hospitality offering at Hamilton Park Racecourse and following fantastic feedback from punters, racegoers and our hospitality guests we are very excited to announce that phase two is right on schedule. Hospitality packages are already on sale for 2018 so I would urge anyone thinking of booking an event or looking for a great day out to get in touch with the team or visit our website.”
