HAT’S A WRAP Hamilton Park Racecourse Saints & Sinners design goes down a treat
Wednesday, 21 June 2017
FLAME-haired Lanarkshire beauty Eilidh MacDonald looked devilish as she modelled a bespoke fascinator made out of Tunnock’s wrappers to celebrate Hamilton Park Racecourse’s Saints and Sinners Racenight.
The tasty creation – which took almost 20 hours to create – was fashioned from Tea Cake and Caramel Wafer wrappers from the iconic family-run Lanarkshire bakery.
Vivien Currie, Chief Executive at Hamilton Park Racecourse, said: “Wearing a hat to the racing is such a firm tradition that we wanted to celebrate this with a bespoke hand-made fascinator created especially for Saints & Sinners. Tunnocks sweet treats are so iconic we wanted to showcase this, and what better way that a striking fascinator. Hats off to the designer – there really is a hat for all occasions at Hamilton Park Racecourse.”
Every year thousands of guests descend on Hamilton Park Racecourse, many of them wearing symbolic colours of red and white to indicate whether they are a ‘Saint’ or ‘Sinner’ for the night.
The racecourse has also recently revealed that heart-throb pair Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy – who formed form mega group Boyzlife last year –will take centre stage to wow the crowds with a live performance.
The celebrations on Thursday 29 June get underway at Hamilton Park Racecourse with gates opening at 3:30pm, when visitors can choose to be a saint or a sinner by purchasing a charitable red or white carnation, before the first race begins at 6pm.
Individual tickets are priced from £19 when booked online in advance and are available now at www.hamilton-park.co.uk, or by calling 01698 283806. Children under-18 go free. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.
