Majestic Castle setting for Pride and Prejudice performance

Theatre fans have the chance to experience Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice in the great outdoors with the spectacular Drumlanrig Castle as a backdrop.
Illyria’s performance of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen takes place on Monday 29 May at 6pm in front of the historic Castle.
Spectators will be transported back in time with this popular period drama which follows Lizzie Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy in Lizzie’s quest to find a suitor in order to support her four sisters once her father dies.
Guests will enjoy the evening performance from the Oval Lawn in front of the magnificent 17th century Castle.
Gates will open at 5pm and spectators are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy before the performance begins.
Claire Oram, Castle Manager at Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate, said: “The Castle serves as a superb theatrical setting which will add a magical element to this open air theatre performance.
“As the show is outdoors we would recommend bringing clothing for all weather and booking your spot in advance is essential.”
