Make Spooky Splash Deep Sea World

Tuesday, 14 October 2008

Deep Sea World is getting ghoulish as staff prepare to host various fang-tastic events throughout the month of October.

Back by popular demand, the North Queensferry aquarium will run its special Creepy Crawlies fortnight between 17 and 31 October. Some of the UK’s coolest underwater creatures will put in appearance to allow brave children the opportunity to take part in interactive handling sessions designed to help them learn all about these wonderful animals.

Over Hallowe’en weekend on 25 and 26 October, Deep Sea World will be packed full of spooky games, craft activities, face painting and eerie walks led by Winnie, the aquarium’s resident witch, whilst diving spectres haunt the tanks. There will also be a family pass to the aquarium up for grabs for one child who guesses correctly what is inside the ‘touchy tombstones’ - a spooky take on kids feel- boxes.

Rebecca Zeigler, marketing manager at Deep Sea World, said: ‘We are looking forward to welcoming visitors throughout the course of October to brave our scary offerings, whether it be getting close and personal with creepy crawlies or watching our amazing diving ghouls at Hallowe’en. We encourage all our visitors to come along in costume and join in the fun.’

All spooky activities are free with general admission and any children who arrive in costume will gain free entry on the Hallowe’en weekend 25th and 26th October, when accompanied by a full paying adult.

Deep Sea World, Scotland’s national aquarium, is located in North Queensferry, underneath the famous Forth Rail Bridge, and houses the world’s longest walk-through underwater tunnel, home to one of Europe’s largest collections of sand tiger sharks, as well as over 2,000 other amazing creatures.
