Make the Monday blues ‘namaste’ away at Restoration Yard

Keep the back-to-work blues at bay with a new Monday morning class at Restoration Yard’s Wellbeing Lab.

The new Sunrise Yoga class, which is perfect for early risers or those who need a gentle way to wake and refresh themselves for the week ahead, takes place between 7.15am and 8.15am each week – making the ideal stop-off on the morning commute.

Led by brand new instructor, Alis Atagan, the new class draws on the belief that in the yogic discipline, the morning is considered a ‘divine time’ when spiritual energy is at its peak.

Suitable for all ages and abilities, simply drop in for a session (at £10 each) or book a block or sign up for a six-week run (£48 for the block).

Sunrise Yoga instructor, Alis Atagan, said: “I’m a strong believer in the fact that yoga is for everybody, no matter their age, ability or physical ailment – and it is the perfect way to rejuvenate and refresh, as well as relax.

“My classes are strong, but with a true focus on learning how to soften into feeling, which is perfect for the start of the week when we often feel a little sluggish after the weekend.”

Jen Wood, manager of the Wellbeing Lab at Restoration Yard, said: “We’re thrilled to have such an experienced instructor on board in Alis, and we’re pleased to offer people – from beginners to seasoned yogis – the chance to take advantage of early morning practice.

“Many people may not feel like it – especially on a Monday – but in yoga the belief is that spiritual energy peaks in the morning, so this new Sunrise Yoga class is the perfect way to harness that energy and take it into the week. We also have plenty of free parking, so it’s an ideal stop to make on the way into work. We look forward to welcoming early birds along to the class.”

For those less into early mornings, Wellbeing Lab at Restoration Yard offers a full timetable of classes, including Engergising Flow Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Physio-led Pilates as well as Sing and Sign sessions for mum and baby, and children’s judo classes. If you have some more time on your hands, there is also a programme of weekend wellbeing workshops.
