A LOCAL opticians is preparing to bolster its family values, with eight blossoming mums-to-be currently working in store.


From June onwards the Chesterfield Specsavers store will be awash with pink and blue as the first of eight babies is expected.


It's second time around for proud mums Kate Care, Claire Wildman, Elizabeth Ralph, Lyndsey Neighbour and Allissa Charlesworth who are able to give handy tips and advice to first timers Lindsey Rose and Anna Nelson.


Soon-to-be dad Matt Lee is surrounded by pregnant women both at work and at home, as he and his wife Kelly excitedly look forward to the birth of their first child in mid October.


The store actively promotes a strong family ethos, with regular coffee mornings for staff and their children to get together for cake and a catch up.  There is also an annual family day out to Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire, which encourages the team to bring their families along for a fun day out in the summer sunshine.


Specsavers store director Rob Hurdley comments: 'We're very much a family store - as our staff roll call testifies!  We encourage our staff and their families to socialise together on a regular basis and the team spirit this creates translates into a positive working environment which benefits staff and customers alike.
