Odc Launches Web-To-Print Service

On Demand Communications (ODC) has today announced the launch of a bespoke web-to-print service for its Prontaprint and Kall Kwik franchises.

The company, which is a market leader in on demand print solutions, has made a significant investment into the development of 'Prontaprint Gateway' and 'Kall Kwik Studio' - the brand names under which the companies will operate the new variable data printing service.

Kall Kwik and Prontaprint clients utilising the new facility will have 24-hour access to an online gateway where they can personalise pre-approved artwork templates, request quotes, place print orders and pay by credit card or invoice.

The service is especially suited to large organisations such as franchises and multi-site operators that want individual businesses to be able to order customised printed materials at a local level, but also need the guarantee that all corporate literature will remain within brand guidelines.

Kealan Lennon, chief executive officer of ODC comments: "We identified an opportunity in the marketplace for a web-to-print facility and our pilot of the service received phenomenal feedback from franchisees who found it to be a useful sales tool and a great way to attract and retain high value clients. Clients using the facility also found it to be both time and cost effective as the ability to personalise and order printed materials at a local level reduced their administration and wastage thereby providing significant savings.

"The service is specifically targeted at large-scale, multi-site operators who want to control their overall messaging and look and feel of their corporate literature while also empowering individuals within the business to tailor printed communications to their own requirements. The enhanced service offering will enable our franchisees to grow their businesses and provide them with the ability to 'lock in' those higher value clients that regularly request documents with both variable and static data as the system, in effect, becomes an extension of the clients' marketing tools but with the added security that it is backed up by print on demand experts."

The web-to-print facility has been implemented by Matthew Day, ODC's chief technology officer who was appointed in October 2008 to leverage innovative technology solutions into the business.

He comments: "Centres adopting the web-to-print service can create a customer gateway, build a basic artwork template and have an online demonstration ready within just 15 minutes. The service provides numerous client benefits such as job tracking, improved workflow for repeat orders and greater transparency on costs and also allows franchisees to streamline their operations and enhance the services they offer.

"We have already had numerous centres come on board for training and experienced a significant increase in the demand from a range of customers including motor dealerships, franchises and hotel chains."

Business Superbrands Kall Kwik and Prontaprint provide high quality design, print, display, direct mail and document finishing services to businesses throughout the UK and Ireland. The combined network of more than 270 centres employ in excess of 1,500 highly qualified designers and digital printing specialists.
