A leading hotel group will be serving up a UK first this December as it unveils a fully vegan and allergen free Christmas pudding, just in time for the festive party season.

The Christmas pudding, suitable for both vegans and vegetarians, is free from 14 of the most recognised food allergens including dairy, gluten, nuts and cereals – allowing those who have to be careful on what they order to enjoy a stress-free pudding that tastes just like the traditional festive favourite.

RBH, the UK’s leading independent hotel management company, put in months of hard work to create the new dish alongside allergen-free food producer, Freaks of Nature, which will be served up at 45 hotels across the UK this Christmas.

Across the RBH portfolio, the food and beverage teams will serve more than 500,000 guests over the festive period, with an estimated 50,000 diners set to enjoy this unique Christmas pudding.

The food and beverage team are so sure of the new, innovative dessert that they believe it will stand up against any high street Christmas pudding currently on the shelves.

Julian Prosser, Group Executive Chef at RBH, said: “We are always keen for everyone to be included when creating menus for our hotels, however catering for guests with food allergies and intolerances can be a complex task.

“Ensuring everyone can enjoy their festive pudding, whether on a work night out or celebrating Christmas with family and friends at one of our hotels, has been the driving force in creating this special dish. I’m certain we have developed a Christmas pudding which can be enjoyed by everyone, and that doesn’t compromise on that recognisable and well-loved festive flavour.”

The Christmas pudding will be available across the UK in 45 hotels within the RBH portfolio from November to January.

The hotels taking part include:
