The Cowie-based wood panel manufacturer has sponsored the club financially which will assist with the day-to-day running costs.

Cowie United FC provides access to fully equipped training sessions for children aged between five and 18-years-old, as well as providing opportunities for volunteer coaches to develop through coaching courses.  It currently coaches 160 local children.

Clare Stevenson, club co-ordinator at Cowie United FC said: “Since launching in 2004, our club has proved very popular, which has resulted in its growth and the addition of new teams over the years. 

“The support of local businesses such as Norbord is vital to ensure the continued running of the club.” 

“We have a superb programme of weekly training sessions for our junior teams offering an enjoyable and healthy activity that teaches our youngsters everything from the importance of exercise and healthy eating to team work, showing respect for others and helping to boost their general wellbeing.”

Carol Brown, HR manager at Norbord in Cowie added: “A very important part of our ethos at Norbord is to support our local area. 

“Cowie United FC provides children and young people in Cowie with a superb opportunity to be part of a fantastic club that helps to nurture so many important life skills. We hope our sponsorship will help the club to continue to offer these great sessions.”
