Two Key Appointments To Build Another Year Regional Success
Tuesday, 17 January 2012
The UK's leading independent commercial property consultant has added two new members to its team of experts in Leeds after a record year for the business.
Paul Manning, senior director in GVA's Leeds office, says: "I am delighted to announce that we have made two significant appointments in Ben Hall and Richard Padley, both formerly of Jones Lang LaSalle in Leeds. Ben will head our Investment team and Richard will provide specialist Retail advice to many of our high profile clients."
Richard Padley is the Leeds office's first specialist retail surveyor. The new role has been created to complement the growing National Retail Team at GVA and to capitalise on the increasing number of retail opportunities in the Yorkshire region, and in Leeds in particular.
Richard, who has been involved in the in-town retail/leisure market since 2006, has worked with a vast range of both landlord and occupier clients including Aviva Investors, CIS c/o AXA, Rockspring, F&C Reit, Network Rail, HSBC, Thomas Cook, Specsavers, Trespass and Carluccio's.
Richards's role at GVA will be to work on predominantly in-town and shopping centre instructions for both his landlord and retailer clients whilst also growing and developing new client relationships with the aim to further build the GVA brand in the retail market. He will also work closely with GVA's Sammy Jones in its Manchester office to ensure a robust Northern Retail presence.
He said: "I am extremely excited about this opportunity at GVA and looking forward to working alongside my new colleagues in both Leeds and Manchester and also London to further promote the GVA Retail offer both regionally and nationally."
Ben Hall, who joins as a director of Investment within the National Markets Team, began his career at King Sturge in Leeds in 1998. Stepping into a directorship role at GVA, Ben is responsible for driving key acquisitions and disposals, and offering advice to investors both local and national across the region.
During his career Ben has dealt with clients such as Threadneedle, First Property Group and Patrick Properties, and most recently in November 2011 he brokered the forward funding of Premier Inn, Broadacre House, in Bradford, in a deal worth £6million on behalf of Gregory Properties.
Richard Walsh, director of GVA's National Markets Team, commented: "We have transacted £141million of property assets over the last 12 months so the recruitment of Ben, with his undoubted investment background and local knowledge, is key for us to build on our successes going into 2012."
Ben added: "I am looking forward to building on Richard's success in the region to continue the excellent service which is provided by GVA across all sectors and strengthening existing relationships whilst building new ones."
The two appointments in Leeds are among seven across GVA's offices nationwide in a bold move to principally strengthen, bolster and expand its existing national retail agency division.
