Beattie was appointed in January 2013 with a two-pronged remit to drive and deliver the national consumer PR campaign for the airline and secondly to operate its press office function meaning we are responsible for fielding and responding to media enquiries.
We educate the media across the UK on the evolution of the brand as we communicate and land sustained media coverage on Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, its mission to expand regional connectivity, and to provide time saving business travel for regional customers with a better alternative to road, rail or other airlines as well as seamless connections via its codeshare partners through its ‘One stop to the world’ travel offering.
Tactically, Beattie supports the announcement of new routes, organising press conferences for base launches, nurturing media relationships, creating events to celebrate inaugural routes and deliver communications around product launches and seat sales.
In the past year, Beattie has fielded 1,404 inbound calls to the press office. We have issued 170 press releases and 126 press statements, which have generated 4,192 pieces of media coverage with a reach of 417,398,205.
